Everyone gets so into DRAMA about creating content on the internet.
Worrying  so much about formats and layouts and keywords  and all that junk that  they forget that the purpose of content is COMMUNICATION.
And communication in real life can be long…
Like a best friend all night discussion that goes on and on…
or short…
Like I quick call, a text or even a smile.
In fact…in the “real world” MOST communication is short and casual.
Think about it.
When you talk to a buddy, or your mom or even your spouse more often than not the communication takes place in quick bursts.
So it is only NATURAL that our marketing communication needs to be that way as well and its time that we got away from all this “formatting” and got SPONTANEOUS with what we want to say.
People are a zillion times (not scientifically proven) more likely to welcome a  picture, a text , a very short video or a quick note simply because this is the way they NATURALLY communicate on a daily basis.
So why not let go of all the “rules” and start just SHARING cool stuff with your people.
Isn’t this what Twitter, Instagram and Snap Chat are?
And look at their success.
Today is a day when you can get you message out from anywhere, anytime to anybody in seconds.
And I don’t know about you…
But I think that is pretty darn cool!

  1. Great topic! bang on Diane. People worry too much about seo when they simply need to create content and share it around, lists, social sites and so on. It takes too much time getting all scientific and stuff.

  4. Diane what a great post! I get so wrapped up in doing it right that I don’t do it at all. Your so right I don’t talk to my wife and give her H1 and H2 headlines with keywords I want to talk about….ha that would suck Thanks for being you, your the best!

    • We all do Greg. Which is why I want you all to FREE YOURSELF and give yourself permission to just post cool stuff and not get too worried about all the details.
      Believe me…IT WORKS!
