Is The Program A Scam??? Or Are YOU?

This is a scam..
That is a scam…
Scam
Scam
Scam
Ever cruise around the net and watch all the people throwing stones?
Writing their “impartial” reviews and putting up their “unbiased” report videos???
Ever see the headlines of “Is Blankety Blank a Scam?” littered all over every site you go to?
Whoever decided to teach people  to get traffic by calling programs a scam deserves to go through some slow and painful TORTURE.
Yeah…so maybe you CAN get some traffic that way….
But at what cost to you…
And most of all at what cost to our profession.
Why would playing on the fears of a prospect EVER seem to be a good idea???
And why would smearing the good name of programs everywhere be a marketing technique worth engaging in?
Yeah , yeah…I know…in the video you say that XYZ company is NOT a scam…
BUT…
Your headline made em look …didn’t it now?
This is what I think….
And as usual…
Hochman just lays it out there.
The question is…are any of these programs a scam???  Or are YOU?
Cause gosh knows this industry is FULL of scams… but it’s generally NOT the programs…
OH NO…
I mean how often do we see one go down?
One or twice a year?
No different than any industry…
Maybe even better than most!
But how often do we see people who do not do any work and yet sit and BLAME the programs, blame the uplines, blame the downlines…
Blame anyone they can!
Or how often so you see people using marketing techniques that play on greed and fear…
(Two things I FOR SURE do NOT want to trigger in my prospects!)
So the question is…..who’s the scam?
Look..this is all I know…
Back 13 years ago when I started all this people told me it was a SCAM.
I was working with a 5 billion dollar company but yet they told me it was a scam.
So what did I do…
I set out to prove them WRONG and show them that I could work from home and make a good living.
And I did.
And so can you…if you decide.
The scam in all of this is the people who choose not to WORK.
Who choose not to TRY and then who say it’s a scam.
And/or who choose to prey on the innocent in order to make a buck.
That my friends is a TRUE SCAM.

  1. Great post & observation Diane. I’ve always thought the same thing. I see people doing these review videos all the time & the only reason anyone sees them is because they drive traffic based on Scam titles & keywords. It needs to stop.

  2. Truer words have never been spoken.
Most “scams” are born out of people who take little to no action, stop when they see no money and label it a scam.
It’s easier than looking in the mirror.
You’d think that by the 5th or 6th company (or “scam”) they’ve been through they’d see the common denominator… THEMSELVES!
But it’s far easier to blame the industry.
    Very well said, Diane!

Diane, I call these people the MLM Bullies. In not all, but a lot of cases of bullying, the bully is someone who is insecure with themselves, and believes that the only way they can get their peers and collegues to respect them, is to make others look bad.

  4. Excellent RANT Diane … You are Dead On!
Thank you for being one to say it out loud.

  5. Awesome “rant” Diane! Makes total sense! Keep proving them wrong… 🙂

  6. I know what you I never looked at it as a way to get traffic I saw it more of a slander to try to get there business or make there stock drop in price. I like your thought too

  7. HECK YES Ms. Hochman!!!! You go gurl!
Primary reason I love you….telling it like it IS! ….well and you’re a great hugger! hahahahaha
I’ve attracted FAR more attention, gigs, connections, clients, whatever by being absolutely direct. None of that “clever” bait and switch.
In fact for the public record, once I land on someone’s post that does that, I will specifically bounce off that page and buy from someone else. Voting with dollars is the most American thing ever. BAM!

    1. Right on Thomas!

  8. You know, Diane, it never even occurred to me that the negative posts and reviews about this or that program being a scam would be an underhanded lead generation method! I have been guilty of googling a few network marketing programs to see what the reviews were, and whether or not they were considered “scams”, but it never would have occurred to me to use this method to get people to my site! I have to say, though, that there are so many people out there looking for a quick buck, whether out of a false sense of entitlement or pure laziness, that most are not actually willing to put in the work required to make a network marketing business successful. The more I educate myself about network marketing, through various programs I have purchased (usually upon the recommendation of successful network marketers I know/know of), the more I realize that any of the MLMs I have “failed” in in the past were not the fault of the program. I, myself have fallen into the trap of searching for that elusive quick buck. I like to think I know better now, and these days, I’m more about trying to educate myself to work smarter, not harder, but WORK nonetheless! Great “RANT” 🙂

  9. Really got a lot out of this article. Sage advice from the woman who knows her stuff!!!

  10. Bang on Diane. I see this so often. I thought it would get some traffic but like you said at what cost?

  11. Brava!
If more people took RESPONSIBILITY for
their own futures they’d be too successful
to point fingers or become the victims of
    unscrupulous predators.
Keep the rants coming, Diane. Folks need
    to hear them.

    1. No kidding…right!!!

  12. One thing I know for sure is that you are NOT a scam Diane!
Thanks for your honesty, transparency, and for always ‘laying it out on the table.’ 🙂

    1. Love ya Jer!
      Thanks!

      1. its nice to read a winning story
